BT21 Marshmallow-Macaron Music Box

 My friend wanted to surprise his girlfriend again with a BT21 themed birthday creation so he requested for a music box with RJ as the standing figurine.

I also made a BT21 themed bake last year for her and you can see it over here.

This year's bake involves quite a bit of precision since I needed to make a box with a working mechanism that can rotate the figurine.

It's also my first attempt at making a tall marshmallow figurine that can be viewed from all angles. 

The smaller 3D seated figures were also rather challenging especially Mang whom I didn't really nail in terms of looks 🤭.

I replaced the water in the gelatin bloom, sugar syrup and for rehydrating meringue powder with cold brewed rose tea for a light floral scent. Check out my Deco Marshmallows book for the basic recipe and techniques. I also show you how to replace fresh egg whites with meringue powder in this reel.

BT21 Cherry Blossom Scene (a marshmallow & cookie creation)

 My friend requested a creation from me to surprise his girlfriend who is a BT21 fan. A picture of the whole squad in a cherry blossom field was sent to me along with the request. He was kind enough to give me an open date and let my imagination go wild. Presenting my version of the scene made out of marshmallows and cookies!

This was before I scattered the cherry blossom "petals".

And this is the reference picture!

I refused to use a huge cakeboard or make the characters really tiny so it isn't an exact replica but I tried my best to capture the essence of the scene.

I made the tree trunks and base out of cookies using my favourite brown sugar cookie recipe but I replaced brown sugar with regular sugar. The characters and foliage are made out of marshmallows. The sakura petals are made out of wafer paper coloured pink with lustre dust. I used royal icing and store bought sugar flowers for the other details.

The characters have not been dusted yet in these pictures. I make duplicates of each character in case of accidental uglification 

I used templates for my marshmallows and it helps a lot because I can't do freehand piping of characters very well. I will show you the technique in detail in my upcoming Deco Marshmallows book.

BT21 Chiffon Cake (Tata, Cooky, Kola)

Do you think BT21 is cuter or BTS? 💖😍

Being a fan of kpop, I have made a few BT21 cakes! The latest is Tata, Cooky and Kola! Cooky and Kola are my favourites!

This time I shot it in the "sunshine" "bubble-pop" style of BTS.

Which is your favourite BT21 and BTS character?🥰

BT21 made entirely from chiffon cake! 💕 This design is a Giant cupcake and I thought it was quite cool and symbolic that Van (the ARMY) in grey is the giant cupcake supports them all! =p

Which is your favourite?

I had a few PMs after my post on instagram on what mold I used for the base cake. Its a silicone mold from silikomart. The rest of the characters were cut from egg shells or cake pop molds.
